I grew up in Hanover, where I began my Musical studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater as a violinist, then later as a singing pupil of professor Gerhard Faulstich. I continued my studies with Anna Reynolds in Bayreuth and, since 2009, with Bernarda Fink.
My wide-ranging repertoire in Lied, Oratorio and Opera has taken me all over Germany, as well as to New York (Carnegie Hall), Amsterdam (Concertgebouw), Vienna (Musikverein), Paris, Madrid and Monaco.
My first CD, featuring songs by Schumann, Schubert and Fauré, released in 2010, won me the Supersonic Award. In the same year NDR Radio recorded and broadcast my recording of Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder in their Chamber Music Series. My second CD of the Galgenlieder by Sophia Gubaidulina was released in 2012
My latest CD with Chamber Music by Mahler, Mussorgsky and Hindemith was issued in 2015.
As well as a singer, I am the Music Director of the Deutscher Chor London and Associate Choral Director of the London Symphony Chorus. See more about my work on the Projects page
